Nature always has a way of surprising us when we least expect it.
Sometimes, the most beautiful part of a journey isn’t the destination you planned for, but the quiet silence that follows a heavy rain.
Living here in Sapporo, Hokkaido, I’ve learned that the most breathtaking views aren’t always in guidebooks.
The Story
Back in November 2020, after the heavy rain had passed, I looked out towards the outskirts of the city.
What I saw took my breath away: “Angel’s Stairs” (divine light) breaking through the heavy dark clouds, illuminating the mountains.
captured this photo by chance during a time when the world felt uncertain.
It felt like a gentle reminder that no matter how dark the clouds are, the sun always breaks through.
About Me
As a mother raising my children in this beautiful, snowy north of Japan, these small moments of natural beauty are what I cherish most.
I want my children to grow up seeing the “real” Hokkaido— the one that exists outside the famous tourist spots.
Closing
I started writing this blog in English because I wanted to share the authentic, nostalgic side of Japan through my eyes.
I would also be happy to share more of the everyday life here in Hokkaido with you.
