July 2020. I visited the “Okadama Airport Greenery Park” (Southeast Area) in Sapporo.
It’s a wonderful spot where you can see small propeller planes taking off and landing very close by.
It’s not a famous tourist destination, but it’s a favorite local spot for families.
The park has a vast lawn where kids can run around freely, and there is also a playground with equipment for small children.
The best part? There is a free parking lot, making it very easy to visit with kids.
It was a quiet afternoon in the summer of 2020.
Even during uncertain times, the sight of planes flying into the wide blue sky felt like a breath of fresh air.
Winter in Sapporo is still deep, but I’m already looking forward to the coming of spring.
