A Nostalgic Memory: Ferry Trip from 10 Years Ago

I was organizing my photos and found this nostalgic shot!
It was taken in the summer of 2016,on a ferry heading from Tomakomai Port to Akita Port.
It’s been 10 years since then.
This photo instantly brings back all the memories of that trip.

The sky from the deck

I remember we were hit by wind and rain the night before.

But the next morning, light started streaming through the gaps in the curtains.

Without thinking, my whole family headed out to the deck.

I still remember standing there, feeling the sea breeze and taking in the vast view.

How I feel now

Looking at it again today, I still think this shade of blue is beautiful.

Seeing this photo makes me want to go on a slow ferry trip again sometime.

💡 The Tomakomai–Akita Route
The wind on the ship is strong even in summer, so I always feel a mix of excitement and a need to brace myself when heading out to the deck.
But being able to witness this wide-open sky and sea is a luxury you can only experience on a ferry.

It’s a 10-year-old scenery, but I decided to share it here on the blog rather than leaving it hidden in my folders.

I hope to go on another trip where I can see a sky like this again.
