Recently, 100-yen shops have been surprising me with their great selection of high-tech PC peripherals. This time, I’m giving an honest review of a USB wired mouse I found at Daiso for just 550 yen (tax included).

My Reason for Buying

I used to use a wireless mouse—a BUFFALO “Premium Fit Mouse Wireless” that I bought for about 2,500 yen. However, after getting a new PC, it seemed to lose its compatibility. The scroll wheel started acting up, and I couldn’t scroll through web pages smoothly. My work was getting interrupted, so I decided to look for a new mouse.

Honestly, I didn’t want a wired mouse because it clutters up my desk. But I was worried about what to do if another wireless mouse failed me. That’s when I came across this one at Daiso. It was wired, but its features and price were so appealing that I decided to give it a try.

The Look and Feel

As you can see from the box, it has a gaming mouse-like design with a glowing LED light. It’s black with a light-up scroll wheel and a pad in the center. The 1.35m cable is a good length, too.

I was surprised by its weight; it felt a little heavy, but it also gave it a sturdy feel, with no cheap plastic feeling at all. I quickly got used to it.

More Than Enough Functions for 550 Yen?

This mouse is surprisingly multi-functional for its 550 yen price.

On the left side, it has “forward” and “back” buttons for web browsers, which significantly boosts my work efficiency. It also has a scroll wheel, of course, for smooth navigation.

I was also impressed that it has 4 levels of DPI (mouse sensitivity) adjustment. I could easily change it with a single button to match my preferred cursor speed. The colorful LED light is a nice touch that brightens up my desk.

The Honest Downsides

It feels a little harsh to point out negatives for a 550 yen product, but if I had to name one, it would be the click sound. It’s not silent, so you’ll hear a “click” with every press. It doesn’t bother me at all, but it might be an issue for people who work in quiet environments or around others.

Despite this small drawback, I can confidently say this product is a great buy for the price.

Final Thoughts: Amazing Value for the Price

With DPI adjustment, an LED light, and “forward/back” buttons, all for just 550 yen, this mouse is incredible. It might not be enough for serious gamers, but for those on a budget or for general PC work, this mouse is excellent.

If you’re looking for an affordable mouse, I highly recommend checking out Daiso!
